Sunday Drives, Carriage Rides & Cozy Snuggles.

Thanks to a mama friend who recommended the complimentary horse and carriage rides in Port Perry!  We took a little Sunday afternoon drive during nap times up to the old historical town of Port Perry.  It was a gorgeous day for a drive and to be out together as a family.

The little town of Port Perry is pretty cute and boasts an eclectic mix of stores where we did that last little bits of our Christmas shopping after catching the horse and carriage ride.

Port Perry is enough out of the way, that they haven't had a lot of tourists that drive all the way up just for a carriage ride.  The rides are short but the line moved fast.  And we got to see the horse plenty in between rides.  We hopped on and cozied up under some blankets and took a little spin around the block.  We agreed it was likely the perfect length of time anyway for Gabriel and Magdalene.  It was definitely a good way to spend an afternoon with the kids before Christmas.  And it kept us away from the crowded, crazy, hectic malls.

He was a beautiful horse!!  And quite big.  Apparently he's the annual carriage horse that people come to see every year.

This town had a little bit of everything: Men's, women's clothing, footwear, children's toys/clothing, books, chocolate, and the most amazing little store filled with the intricate doll houses, the kind every girl dreams of living in.

A lot of these towns just north of Toronto seem to be filled with all sorts of treasures worth exploring when you have the time!
